Customer Comments
Rating: Excellent.
First purchase: This is a great site for beginners and professionals alike. The quality of the service is the best. I will definitely purchase from them again!
Second purchase: Unsurpassed quality with their products. Web site is very nice and well organized. In regards to customer service, I am sure that they take pride in making sure every customer is well taken care of. My personal experience was not bad, but since the company was so busy, I was left unattended and with questions for a week. All items purchased come along with business cards from the President of the company (great business practice), which allows me to contact him directly. I thank him for his quick response. Prices seem a little high, but if you look around, you won’t find a more professional or better deal!

Note: Daniel ordered a Chinese name translation and a Chinese personal stamp. "I am a Boddhisatva, a practitioner of Mahiyana Buddhism. My life revolves around Buddhism, photography, and computers. I am an avid thinker. I spend much time practicing and meditating on patience and impermanence. I am also an avid photographer. I don’t work for money; I just take pictures for the beauty of it. I have a great and vast knowledge in computing. Self-taught and always learning new things, I have made many friends thanks to my repair and troubleshooting skills." We created a name inspired by his practice of Buddhism and his talents in many different fields.
The difference between professional name translators and amateurs is like the difference between professional golfers who practice hours everyday and gain experience by competing regularly vs. someone who just read Tiger Woods' How I Play Golf and thinks that he or she can play like a pro.

Do you know how to write your name in Chinese?
In Chinese, there are two different sets of characters, Traditional and Simplified. Depending on how you want to use your characters and where, one set might be more appropriate than the other.
Now, let me explain more about this ...
Writing your name in Chinese
A lot of Westerners love to get their names in Chinese because the writing is graphically pleasing and adds an air of mystery.
Since there are two different sets of characters for writing your names in Chinese, which script should you choose?
That depends on your particular situation and your preference.
The differences between Traditional and Simplified characters are these: The Chinese have been using traditional characters for several thousand years. About 50 years ago the Chinese Communist Party gained political control and changed the writing system in a step towards its goal of eliminating characters and eventually replacing them with the Western Roman alphabet. Fortunately, this plan is no longer in place. At this time, simplified characters are the official choice in China and Singapore. The traditional characters are preferred in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan (as kanji), Korea (as hanja), and most Chinese communities in North America.

Simplified characters carry somewhat of a stigma because they are associated with the Chinese Communists who created them and forced their adoptation. However, as China is loosening up and a billion Chinese there grew up learning nothing but the Simplified characters, these characters are here to stay. The number of people who use Simplified characters outnumber those who use Traditional ones 10 to 1. But Traditional characters have not been abandoned because Chinese living outside of China, generally more affluent and possessing more influence than those in mainland China, still prefer the traditional characters for their artistic value.
So which should you choose? At Good Characters, you get both sets of characters. When you want to show your Chinese name to officials in China, use Simplified. When you want to decorate your room or show off to your friends from Taiwan, Hong Kong, or even Japan or Korea, use Traditional characters. Most Taiwanese and people from Hong Kong can read most of the Simplified characters without much problem, but Japanese and Koreans have a very hard time understanding some of the very simplified Chinese characters.
If you are not still not sure about the difference between these two scripts, I recommend you read my FREE Special Report on Traditional and Simplified characters that contains more visual examples. The information will help you come to grips with reading and writing the basic Chinese symbols.

So, how do we translate your name into Chinese?
Most of the time your name is translated, more accurately, transliterated, by sound. For example, William becomes Wei Lian, two Chinese characters that sound like William in English.
This seems easy until you consider how many different ways Wei Lian can be written in Chinese.
Chinese is a tonal language, and many characters sound exactly the same. There are 27 characters that look different and have different meanings but are all pronounced Wei. And wait, that's just Wei in the 1st tone. There are 33 additional Wei's in the 2nd tone, 52 in the 3rd tone, 47 in the 4th tone. And there are 44 characters pronounced Lian in the 2nd tone.
This is like the English dear and deer. The two sound the same, but you don't want to mistake "my dear" with "my deer." In Chinese, hundreds of words sound the same and are distinguished only by tonal differences.
The number of possible transliterations increases dramatically when a name doesn't match exactly any Chinese sound and several similar sounds have to be considered.

Fast & Accurate Chinese Name Translation
We translate your name into Chinese and create a Chinese symbols design with two different character standards and create custom design at one low price, delivered within 5 to 7 business days, and 100% guaranteed.
For a low price, you receive a good Chinese name that is guaranteed to have good characters and never embarrass you.
Some have asked us why it takes such a long time to create their names when many other translators promise 24- or 48-hour e-mail delivery. We have up to seven business day turn-around time because this time is needed to thoroughly and correctly translate your name. Unlike other translators, we strongly believe that your name's quality is far more important than instant "art" or rushed projects.
We like to research our proprietary internal database and the Internet to gather different existing translations, if available, of your name. Our name translators then brainstorm and create potential name candidates for you that not only sound like your English (or Spanish or French) name, but also are related to you as a unique person as much as possible. Unlike in a one-man translator business, your name is reviewed by up to three name experts in our company. No matter how brilliant a translator may be, he or she can make mistakes, and since you have no way of telling whether the translation is 100% accurate or not, you could end up with a wrong name even if the translator is a true expert. With our review system, multiple specialists handle your name. The chance of three people making the same mistake is practically zero. That's why you can trust us. Our system can prevent human errors.

For example, you can submit names such as these:
- Mary
- Mary Ann Smith
- Rodriguez
- David (R)oy Rodriguez
Do not try to get five names for the price of one like this sneaky customer:
- Hi, my name is "John George David Leigh Smith." This is really my name.
Nice try but no, sorry.
Have I mentioned that you get both solid filled and stencil outline images?
Solid Chinese calligraphy images are great for most uses, and our large, clear, and crisp stencil outline images are perfect for some art projects.
