The First Human Namer Adam
You might consider Adam to be the first human namer: Genesis 2:19 “And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” Adam is Ya Dang in Chinese. Ya is short for Asia or it could mean the second. Dang means to serve or to be regard as. It seems that Adam’s Chinese name suggests he was the second in charge of naming, the first being the Lord.
